They are about lessening the anxiety felt about dentistry being suffering. From the friendly (and hilarious) reception, (with literally less than 5 minute waiting) to the calming atmosphere of the rooms comfortable recliners (plus you control your own cableTV channels), to making sure your choices of procedures are only made after full understanding of pros and cons. But most importantly, is the constant awareness of your pain levels, and proper medication so sessions are just 'pressure but not pain'.
